When did you last have the valves checked? I had this issue with my crf was a pig to start but once going it was okay, turns out the valves needed shimming or worse case you need new valves

You tried a 250 2 stroke? A lot cheaper in terms of rebuilding them.

Could be the spark plug?

Had the valves all done and shimmed about 3-4 months ago

I've thought about it but i like the 250f, its hard to just make the switch like that, especially the 250 2's mad power

Remembering that the KX is a full blown track bike, 4 months may be normal, it depends how much you ride it, for how long and for how hard. I don't know the answer sorry. Sometimes they're just hard to start cold. As said could be the plug.

A 250 2 stroke should be more tame. The bigger two strokes have more torque and as such the power is not as savage. Unless it's a 250 twin.

Yeh i just would rather a 250 4, love their pull and the sound is awesome, but why do i have to open the throttle for it to start would that be due to the soark plug also? Or carb maybe?

Single cylinder 4T's sound GASH! lmao. Sound like someones doing a fart.

Inline 4 ftw. Other than that I don't really like the sound of four strokes.

See I don't like V twins either. They sound horrible. Proper dirty noise!

The way I see it, the higher the pitch, the higher the power.

Listen to F1 engines. They sound very two strokey and push out serious power.

Oh love turbo cars. LOVE TURBO'S!

Straight 4's sound the best.

Get an 90's 250 that revvs up past 19k under a tunnel and feel the erection.

Or the old 60's 50cc teacup racer's that revved 22k+ sound like motorbike sex.
