Considering selling DT and looking for some help in the matter.

Hi guys, I'm having to think about selling my DT and before I decide to put her up for sale I just wanted to ask some of you your opinion on her value and how much interest there is possibly.

She's taxed until April 2015 and MOT until May 2015,  She's done just over 20000 miles and had a top end rebuild at around 15000, new front tyre and front sprocket and I brought a Giannelli exhaust system to replace the BigOne systen she had. Other then that I've just tidied her up and have only had her just over a year but circumstances have caused me to have to consider selling, love her to bits but and am trying still to find alternatives still. I also have a Tank decal to put on.

Have some footage also, sorry if it's a bit long

Dude that is a very sweet motor you have there!

I'd 1500 if you are after a quick sale. But I'd be tempted to say a little more if you put the graphics on.

My advice is if there is anyway you can keep it then do. Looks proper nice and will only go up in value.

Looks nice and shiny, don't stall get it gone before summer ends if you want it gone.

I would say 14-1500 but it is really shiny, so you could get more if you get someone who doesn't know that it's far from standard.

p.s get a blue mudguard and do the forks/swingarm black.

edit: suspicious first post on these forums, is about selling up hmmmmmyawn

Thanks for the comments guys. The year of the bike is 97 and yeah been lurking on the forums since I got the bike but I haven't really been active so sorry about that. The forums helped loads too, one of the reasons I got rid of the Bigone exhaust system and got the Giannelli one. Still got the old mudguard.

Can i just ask... what forks are you using and what front caliper??
Also what tyres are they??

Bike looks good to me, have you still got the original wheels too??

Can't say I've checked what forks they are, when I got the bike last year I just thought they were standard same with the front caliper, I did buy a brembo front caliper but I need to make a new bracket for it and I never got round to it.

The tryes are Michelin Pilot Street on the back and Pilot Road 2 on the front.

And no didn't get any original wheels with it, thought about buying some at some point.

Supermoto set up is way better if you aren't off-roading. The standard ones just munch the tyres after about 500 miles if that on the road. Where's SM ones will last double if not triple that.

Whip it on eBay, might get a good price.

Also I remember this bike, his friend came on asking for help because it had no power in sixth gear. Turned out to be the BigOne. And the guy had a kitted out bike that was in a magazine, remember? About a year ago.

Yeah that's right, he knows a bit more then me when it comes to this sort of thing so he asked for me. As said was a massive help in deciding to get rid of the Bigone.

How long have you had your Giannelli pipe fitted? I have a DEP and I'm really regretting it.

The deposit pipes performance is great. The metal it is made from is questionable.

Next few weeks I should have my hand made one on :)

I want something long lasting. I'd whip my standard gutted pipe on, but it isn't as loud as the DEP. The only reason I haven't bought a PedStop pipe is because I want to see how the hold up in a year or so after being rode through winter. I doubt anyone will come forward with that though. hmm

Cal, are they the underslung pipes?

Aren't they stainless steel? I'm sure they will be fine.

I wanted underslung simply because you can get more power out of it, but he does wrap arounds as well.

Thing about the underslung one is cornering; it does let the bike down pretty low but not enough for my liking

I have thought about that, I'll get a pic of how low you can get it with the underslung

Doesn't look that low, but i bet the majority of members on this forum probably have never even been that low, unless your sticking your leg out like at tart and putting the bike down in the corner

If your just commuting its ideal is spose, but if your like me and can't help yourself then i would stick to the upper pipe because that one is going to get scratched eventually, not saying i can get low into every corner but there's bound to be one out there that i do

Dunno that is pretty low for a dtr. A supermoto not so much but you wouldn't get a standard dtr much lower than that.

I ain't getting rid of the dep. it'll go in the loft so won't the end all. If the power is better then that's what ai'm after.
