hey guys in the winter time im looking to buy another 2 smoker ( i really miss the ting ting ting and the smell ) but i was thinking off getting an aprilia or another dt but get the 200 or the 230 this time im really not sure :/ or might go down the route cal has done but with a yz250
so what are people suggestions on different 2 strokes out there ? ( mind you it has to be road legal )

A YZ 250 on the road would be way too much to ride around all winter. And if you thought thieves were on it to jack you up for the DT, they'd be ten times worse with a YZ 250.
Rather than going on about the thieves all the time stick to the bike, dont matter what you got if they want it they will find a way to get it
The yz250 has got allot of power, i find them quite boring because you have got to be really good to keep them pinned, basically you dont sound like your going fast but your at your limit lol where's a 125 sound like your flat out everywhere
It depends what style you're after. If you plan on going offroad then go for an enduro thats made for the road.
Dt200wr is a good option if you like the DT style. Or even get a dt125 and stick a bigger engine in there.
If you want a sports style then theres plenty to choose from but all are getting expensive now. The tzr125 4dl is stilla cheapish 125 sports style.
Or if you want an enduro style without the offroad bits then scrims photo says it all. TDR250 is a twin 250 with ypvs. I've never ridden one but would like to own one. They are rising in price constantly.
Cheers. Only reason I havnt been on is because I accidently wiped my bookmarks on firefox and all my saved passwords. Couldnt remember my password and had loads of things on lol.
Yeah I forgot about the KTM's. They do a nice few 2 strokes actually and are one of the only factories still developing them for offroad.
I hear the kawasaki kdx220 is quite a good bike. Has a nice powervalve system. A old college friend has/had one.
Nice to see you back AndyYam, ktm exc 125 best enduro bike in my opinion
Only £2-3,000 for one that hasn't been ragged. Doubt insurance will touch him without an extortionate price either, especially so with being from Liverpool.
Still think the VJ22 looks nicer, not biased or anything ;)
I still think my old RMX250 was a cracking little bike could get it on the back wheel in 5th with a slight tug on the bars lol, too much of a handful for off road though!

Would love a ktm but take me years to save up and having that and the wr400 would be Christmas to a thief

Then again having the wr is a target in its self. or i might scarp the 2 smoker idea and get something as a daily commute like an er500 or a gpz500 but i miss the ting ting ting

Yeah sad world Danny. Two strokes are great as a toy. But for work have a nice big 4t. I use my dt as my daily commuter lmao. Wouldn't have it any other way but it's not without its faults that is for sure.
then again i might be getting a car so yeh could have a toy

It doesn't matter what you have in this world, some imperfect human being will want to take it off you. I ain't only on about materialistic possessions. If you want to secure it, grab some Almax chain and padlocks, with alarms and a motion sensor light out of the reach so the thieves cannot sabotage it. One thing thieves hate when they're creeping in the night is a source of light, and your neighbours will look why the light is on if they look out the window. Unless your neighbours are like mine, show a blind eye and are the type to ring the police on you for protecting your property. When I had thieves coming in my garden we were sat out with weapons waiting for them... Never shown up when we was waiting, typical!
Sort your dt out cal, i personally think you've over modded it thats why its fkin up, but we had this conversation on a previous thread i know
Just teething problems mate. Just sorting out the jetting and what not takes time. It's worth it though, it's much faster than it was stock :D
I think that oil pump was fcked anyway, you've only got to see the state of that engine when I bought it to realise it wasn't going to be a walk in the park lmao!
