as the intention of swapping the wheels of a dt when I get one I have already have a complete sc front end.obviously I cannot use the upside down forks but the wheel, brake unit and disc will be ok  what I would like to know is can I use the sc swing arm with out much hassle ? as I have found out the sc uses the dtr engine could the cdi unit and carb be used .if these give a better performance ?

would have thought they would be too short as from a road bike and not a dirt bike. have the complete front end including the yokes if they do fit it would be a bonus

Get it on the bike and to the desired height. Then measure what length shock you need and get searching for a suitable shock.

ok as for the wheels, the back wheel you can just swap out the bearings, get a aprilia rs4 rear disc of ajsutton for 20 quid as you need a 200mm disc, or you could probably get the swinger to fit a dt but not sure how would the rear shock line up
as for the front wheel etc
brake - no go as its a radial mount
front wheel bearings are the same dia but the wheel offset is too much to the right and impossible to center unless you machine the wheel.

your best bet is to get a wider USD forks and than use the wheel with them otherwise is a no go.

cdi etc i would have thought would be more restrictive as the engines in them are of a newer dtre dtx which i think were a bit more restricted down but correct me if im wrong, but anyway they have different flywheels comparing to 03< dtr so wnt work carb is probably still the same old mikuni 28
