what's the worst bike you've had mine would be a toss up between these two....th6MZCEDGH.jpg and a Honda ft 500 twin and a mz 250 tank everthing on it was metal even the side panels I ran the engine on cooking oil instead of two stroke oil it smelt like a chip shop. but if I remember rightly the Suzuki had something to do with one of 20130820_150100.jpg the engineers from mz because the two stroke engines were ahead of there times.

There has been a few, most recently in the last 10yrs or so Suzuki DRZ400S and Suzuki DRZ400S and er Suzuki DRZ400S had a virtually brand new one for about a month. It never broke down but was just garbage compared to a 2stroke, sold it and bought a brand new YZ250.... Oh had an XT600E for a week back in 02 another waste of money, they are bullet proof and people have rode around the world on them but just not my cup of tea.

Ok Ringo, I think you mean Ernst Degner? He knew a rocket scientist called Walter Kaaden employed by the Nazi party to make V1's and V2's. If you lived in London or the Southeast at the time they were worse than Millwall coming to play. Ernst nicked the plans and scribbled some notes on a Galuoises (fag) packet and did a great escape to the West. Suzuki did nicely out of that and Yamaha did even better. They understood gas laws and dynamics better cos they already made organs and pianos. Ever wonder why they had three tuning forks as a logo? So Suzuki engines were suddenly very good and Yamaha engines quietly went one better. Ernst went off the rails a bit and died a pauper, apparently he liked the high life in the West a bit too much. I'm even too young to know all this! Ringo, I'm not taking the mick, ok?

ill give the bike its dues it could wheelie really easy and do sitting down rolling burnouts but it will run out of fule with 2 quid left in the tank the front of the tank is lower then the pet**** if you turn right with low fule it will starve the carb and start cutting out its imposible to bump and hated starting if you left it 2 days even with a fully charged battery. know thing is if you leave petrol tap on fule will get into the sump so new oil is needed. awefull bike really was

KR1S 250!

was lightning quick and handled nice,BUT...

it used to tank slap whenever it felt the need.

put a steering damper on,didn't help...

sold it to my mate, who crashed after a tank slap on a bend.

he rebuilt it and sold it,chap after him got thrown off and it hit a lamp post which tore it in half...

good riddance to the evil thing.

replaced it with a gsxr 1100 wp,horrible heavy evil handling sack of ****e.

it met a similar fate to the KR1S with it's new owner, after i got banned on it hmm

eek some of the bikes that have been mentioned so far are ones that I have quite fancied ie.....ccm 600,dzr 400 ,didn't have a xt600 but have had a xtz750 was quite a good bike. also had a gsxr 1100 but it was a street fighter so I knew what I was getting still scared the #hit out of me though. swapped it for a yam trx twin looked nice sounded nice handled well and after riding for 10 mins felt like you were sitting on a concrete slab the most uncomfortable bike I have ever had. also heerflick if I remember what you have said about the mz engineer was what I had read.

DTR 125. Nah, but it is the most unreliable bike.

Worst bike I've ridden, but not owned, luckily. Was a Sinnis Stealth 125. Like riding a big 600CC, without the power and it handled like garbage. It was wide and bulky unnecessarily.

Really toy? you had that bad of a time on the ccm? Mine was amazing, easily best 4 stroke supermoto I've ever owned. Worst bike I ever had was the other DT I had. I got it from a mate and it was in a **** state. I already had the supermoto DT as some of you know. I just used bits from his DT to make mine nicer and scrapped the rest. Was so shoddy

What about the best bikes you have owned..............

Mine is the Yamaha TDR250 the worlds first factory supermoto style bike, I have one still and wont ever sell it. Ive rode all sorts from 50,s to R1,s etc but these things are FUN FUN FUN try one it will take a week to wipe the grin off your face lol............

GSXR750K4 to K7 one of the best ever !

My 2011 KTM XC250 is the best off road bike ive road, if the new ones are better they must be the off road equivalent of a TDR250

davestestsandarticles.weebly.com/uploads/4/8/4/5/4845046/bike_may_1988_yamaha_tdr250_advert.pdf

Take no notice of the advert its a pure fast road bike that just looks like it could go off road !

93 rgv 250...

loved that bike, handled like it was on rails and felt like you were on a race bike.

traded it in on a new 95 rgv but i didn't really get on with it.

the suspension changed for the worse.

the swing arm looked naff compared to the old one.

3 piece valves fell apart and the rebuild cost a fortune bleh

keep eyeing up the last rgv sp but 7 grand for a nice one hmm

always loved the look of the tdr's,never had a go on one though...

Yeah RGV,s were brilliant, never had one but ive had a go of a few. One of my pals had a J reg one with a mint Lucky Strike paint job on it years ago when he first passed his test. The price of some of the Jap imports is mad I wouldn't dream of paying it. Ive seen TZR250 SPR,s for over 8 grand on ebay very rare very fast for a 250 but 8 grand od...... nah .................

i like my wr400 it aint let me down yet .. i would say if you cant fix one yourself dont buy one tho mechanics are costly parts aint cheap .. .. new piston new valves new cams an cam chain so far last year . The thing even got me home with a cylinder full of water once ... great bike,,

worst bike has to be chinesse im afraid lifan gy125 the boneshaker but theres worse chinky bikes out there why they make them with 5 gears is beyond me only 3 of them work 1st is non existent and 5th slows you back down lol

I didn't like the 400 because it had no electric start and was a bit under powered, never broke down though but didn't have it long as the reputation of all the early Yamaha 4stroke competition bikes was not good back in the day. No electric start on it was my main reason I got shot of it. My mate Neesam did have one drop a valve at walking speed though, smashed the piston bent the rod mullerd the head and barrel and mullerd the crankcases was un repairable without a new engine like you say replacing all that with new would be more than the bikes worth. For what they cost these days the 450 has electric start is much more reliable and is just a better bike, ive never owned one but have ridden the od one when pals have had them. Horses for courses you could have your 400 for years and never have a problem with it, sounds like you look after it with good servicing and regular valve clearance checks and don't mind kicking it over when your stuck in the middle of a bog half way up the engine wishing you had stayed in bed. That's when you appreciate the lecky boot switch on a 4banger lol

im feeling what ya saying there mate did have it cut out at lights once before id fit the auto decompression cam . wasnt fun you certainly dont look to cool kicking a bike up at the lights going through the long ass starting procedure .. but now the kick doesnt bother me to much with the decent cam . iv got her that dialed in it starts of half a kick ... but then again iv never experienced a dirt bike with a starter motor as yet so i wouldnt know any better... yeah i know theres better bikes some id even like more myself. but im still keeping hold of my wr its become my own after all the work iv done on it,,, lived an learned from my mistakes there i always regretted getting rid of my built from the ground up hand built dtr .

Now 4 stroke just dominate at everything, i want the manufacturers to put all the research and attention into two-strokes like they have the four strokes and see what happens

I reckon the cr500 size 2stroke's could be unstoppable if the same amount of reaearch as the 450's was put into them

Agree 2 stroke! They just don't pay attention to 2 strokes anymore! Really frustrating! I love 2 strokes but they just need to put some effort into them!
