my DT125R 2002 really struggles to start, when it finally starts, it revs really high on it's own, have to press kill switch otherwise itll probably blow up lol, the carbs been ultrasonic cleaned, put all back together again..doing same thing,, could it POSSIBLY be the CDI? there was a previous problem and the CDI had to be connected to a computer to be sorted out properly. (my grandads friend sorted the CDI problem before). could it be the jetting is wrong in it to cause it to rev high on its own, maybe the Pilot jetting?
Cheers for help

Won't be the cdi mate. The cdi could cause iratic idling but ultimately it has no control over how much fuel goes into the engine. That my friend is the carbs job.
So it could be the carb not put back together properly.
It could be air leak somewhere
It could be just as simple as the throttle cable is not seated properly or is caught somewhee. One chap on here couldn't figure this out for ages! Tried everything. Didn't hear from him until one day hr admitted that the throttle cable was stuck open due to a poorly routed cable.
Ultimately it's this. If the slide is shut closed, the engine won't rev. Do the revs drop when in gear and rolling. If it pulls really well then it'll be a stuck throttle cable. If it doesn't the. It'll be an air leak of some sort. Or incorrect carb put together
Thanks for your help. I forgot to mention, it would only run with the choke on with some revs, turn the choke off and it would die, the crankcase seals have never been changed or any other seal, it could be an air leak as you said, my grandad and his friend do most of the work on my bike because i get it done for free ( yes im lucky lol ) they are thinking of taking it to a Dyno to see if it can be set up correctly and find problems, fingers crossed
