I m doing a top end rebuild on my bike over the weekend, and have read quite a lot of different methods of the best way to run the engine in. I came across this article about running the engine in hard. Quite an interesting read. Some of you guys may have read it already:

What do you think?
I did it with mine first of all I drained all the synthetic oil out and refilled with some cheap non synthetic 2 stroke when I put the new top end on it once it was up and running I took it easy for 3 miles keeping a check on the temp then rode it hard for the rest of the day I think I covered 28 miles and its been fine I've done 200 miles on since then. I was nervous about doing it but you'll never know unless you try and it seems to work just fine.
Yeah I was never convinced of that method, this topic has been covered to death, I always felt just taking it slow and steady for a few hundred miles sorts the trick. Ultimately you just want good piston ring seal and to mate the surfaces. When both the bore and rings are new it's essential to bed the rings in. Running low grade oil, yeah I heard that, but I dismissed that. The MINUTE the piston rings touch the bore, you scuff and score the barrel. A decent layer of oil is essential to prolonging life.
