What's the likely issue if this is disconnected all together? Will it still retarded the ignition? I ha v e vapour clock k s and removed all old . Wiring but the cdi will still be waiting for some sort of signal I assume? Any thoughts please

www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php

found some reading regarding this issue. if wire is snipped/removed then looks as though the ignition will run retarded constantly - as its a closed system

just checked my old clocks and it is a closed system - so in affect- when snipped or not plugged it it will retard igntion slightly- as when it hits the magnet switch in clocks the switch then opens creating the retarded cdi mapping -no switch and its as though its open!!

it doesnt apparently effect the revs- just changes the ignition mapping- so power output is not as it should be!

going to reconnect the old wiring to block and hide behind headlamp-

intresting to see if this actually changes anything..looking behind the mechansics of it -looks as though it should??

Right fitted the switch back into my wiring.took it to work last night, bike definitely more sprinty after 50mph, didn't seem to hit a wall of sorts..with my vapour thinker maxed about 55mph but went over 60 this morning after work. Didn't need to rev tits off it either.so I think it shall be staying connected.
Changing my front sprocket today for 15t so that should change top speed...run out of gears on 13t and 46rear. Gotta be carefully as still r u inning in engine.
