Hey there i have just purched a yamaha DT125x Yesterday,

To De-restricted the Bike Do i need to do the Following:?

1. Earth - Green/Black Wire underspeedo
2. Fit Full DEP System.
3. Open Powervalve fully.

From here im not sure as there is people on the net saying all differnt things.
ALso would you recommend Getting all work done by a tech.

After i have do this and the engine is worn in, i will be looking to fit a Big Bore kit from VE-uk, Has one fitted one of these or any idea on what the increase would be?

Just one more question- Is there anything else i can do to get more power out of it? i.e Sprokets?

Hi, I would run the bike in first before trying to derestrict it.
"Running an engine in" is Very Important. If you were to thrash a new engine, it could seize! New engines have more friction (and may run hotter) when New until the piston rings and barrel have bedded themselves in.

Stick to the running-in procedure in you service manual, and then do the derestricting. wink

In your list you Don't need to do Number 3 cos the Earth Wire Modification makes the powervalve operate fully. biggrin

Please note that derestricting you bike will "Invalidate your Warranty", so if your engine (or anything else) was to go wrong within the warranty period you would have to pay for the repairs yourself. cry

I thought I should point out the above in-case you didn't know. confused

thanx i will wait to do all that then.

WIll fitting a dep System be a bad idea then?

As the dealer asked if i wanted one fitting for £250.

i also think keeping the warranty intacked is a good thing for now.

cheers
