This is pissing me off a bit now I bought a servo off ebay which was listed as off a tzr but i got it anyway as it looked right.
Its a 3 wire servo (black and brown wires on the plug and black with a yellow stripe on the single wire) it all matches up with my bike. When i turn the ignition on it goes through the cleaning cycle and seems to work fine.
The trouble is the cables do not seem long enough to fit from the servo to the plastic valve housing even though they are 240mm and 220mm like it says they should be on the instruction on this site...
I think the shorter one is ok, but the longer one isn't long enough
My bike is a 1990, am i right thinking that the cables should go from guide 1 to guide 1 and guide 2 to guide 2 and they should cross over in the middle?
When the ignition is off the power valve should be in the fully open position yeah? and then turn anti-clockwise (to the left) to shut the valve? I noticed the new bikes seem to go the opposite direction?
Lots of questions but i'm a bit stuck as to what i should do next?
The mark on the plastic lines up with the one on the metal and it opens and shuts as it should, but it still seems pretty dead low down.
If I am doing around 45+mph and the revs are anywhere below 8000rpm it doesn't have the power to accelerate. There is a big dip in power around 7000rpm and it can't pull through it to get to the power band, drop it down a gear and accelerate flat out and it's ok though.
As soon as it dips below 8000rpm it will slow down again and its bloody annoying.
What the hell is it? I thought the powervalve would cure this?
ive got the same problem, no power on low revs with the power valve fitted according to the guide in here where the cables are crossed as mine is an 89 dtr. 2 things i gotta try. rotate powervalve by 180 or uncross the cables. she run much better when the cables were in line ie 1 to 2 and 2 to 1. Let us know if u get urs sorted.
