Dunno, always wondered that myself. I know cars are about 10% out.
Worth checking with GPS though

well proved tonite was reading 62-3mph on speedo got ticket for 58mph just over 2hrs ago ..... the rozzers they had me 3 points 60 fine

if 58 was speeding then 62 would have definetley been. Not the way Id have tried to work out my speedo accuracy.
