I have just bought a DEP tailpipe and fitted it today, was quite disappointed to the sound from it, i still have my standard front pipe fitted on my 06 DT, I was thinking that maybe if I bought a front DEP pipe if it would sound a lot more like a 2 stroke and not a wet fart?
Also my bike was recently stolen, it was derestricted when it was stolen (rings not removed from front pipe) i have now got the bike back and have removed the dnorkel from under the seat and earthed out the wire from the speedo but the performance is nothing like it was before it was stolen!! was wondering if anyone has any ideas on why it could be like this?
When i first derestricted my bike i removed the powervalve and it was coked up, I cleaned and greased it then refitted it, I was thinking maybe if i did this again and cleaned air filter and fitted a new plug if i would be seeing the 90mph i was before??? if anyone has any advice i would be greatful Sorry bout the essay!!!
Hi there,getting the dep front pipe will defo make a big improvment to the sound of your bike and it will make it faster too,sorry but im not sure why its not as fast as it was,it could be any number of things.
AAAthreat i think that guy has also completely de ristricted his front pipe,its funny because my mate has a dep exhaust on his dtr 125 which is the exact same year as mine but it sounds not as good,i do have a different dep tail pipe though so that might be making some difference,i had the number of a breakers that was selling a dep front pipe for £60,they said it was hardly rusted but did have a small dent in it,i could try to find the number and pm it to you if anyones interested.
