also gav, it cant be the 260 jet, coz yesterday with the 240 in it wouldnt rev past that either !!

im pretty sure its gotta be the front pipe, coz you can hear as you rev it and watch the rev counter, as my mate said too as we were both starring at it, you can see/hear its restricting it so you cant just over rev and redline it and do damage !

yes mate, when i 1st got the bike, it wouldnt rev past 8k , i put the big one on and it revved all the way

then i put this other cdi in and it still did, then i pegged the valve open and it wouldnt go past 60 , i put this standard pipe on and it flys, but still wont let me red line and does a slight splutter kinda thing, and just wont let it , was the same with the 240 jet, and the 260, cleaned the air filter etc , the bike flys and everythings good apart from just that, i gotta sort it coz it means ya have to change gear perfectly just before it happens or early ,and i know theres more top end, aswell as even more acceleration to gain when it just revvs free all the way

i might make a vid tomorrow and post it up

Try the needle. The jet needle is attached to the slider in the carb.Remove the two screws at the top of carb where the cable goes.Pull out the slider and you will see the needle. You have to disconnect the needle from the slider. Its all pretty straightforward. The clip on the needle should be on the 4th groove from top.If it isn't then put it there.Thats the stock setting. If its on the 4th groove then raise it by one groove and try that. The info you need is in the haynes manual if you have one

ok mate il try that , ive got the manual and tried looking, but couldnt see that bit, i could see it says 4th position in the specs, but not where/how to ajust it, or even where it was in the breakdown of the carb !

any other ideas if its not that mate ?

right ive managed to find it !!

its on the 4th one from top, which is as low as it can go, should i try it up one ? what would that do ? , its tedious tho keep taking the bike apart every 5 mins , i dont wana have to put it all back together, then its not make any difference/be worse then have to do it all again !! lol

ive just checked with the big one exhaust, and it will rev all the way when in neutral, but it wont go past 10.5 in when im on it flying along and does the same thing, but about 1.5k later

but the standard wont rev all the way when in neutral or wont ever go apst about 9.5

Oh yeah its very tedious! Try doing four carbs everytime on a gsxr and then having to balance them everytime as well! If you want good results you've gotta work to get them.Raising the needle will allow more fuel at any rev range. It shouldn't be on the bottom though.DT has five grooves. It should be one up from bottom.

yeah in noticed when i moved it up one there was 5, it was on the 4th one , ive just moved it 1 up , just got my standard front pipe back 10 mins ago as i got someone else to re-weld it, as there was 1 small blow hole in it i noticed where the other bloke didnt do the best job !

just gotta get some paint n re paint it then try it out with the needle on the 3rd is that fixes it !

any other ideas if its not that ?
