hi everyone, got a problem my bikes broken.for some reason wires from the brake switch melted badley,i have renewed but bike now wont go its a 2007 model, and wonder if anyone can shed any light on why this has happened.all the electrics now work just no spark to the plug
the bike is a 2006 model bought new in 2007 cheap so the warranty has already ran out. i have repaired wires could the problem be the regulator rectifier?
wires melt for a reason. the cdi wont cause wires to melt, look at the coil or battery areas. infact just take it to a dealer and let them do the guesswork it will save you in the long run
FIRSTLLY. make sure its not the plug, the best thing to do is put your finger in the HT lead and get a mate to kick it off, if it tingles then you know its the plug. Dont try if you have a week heart!
Secondlly. test the comprssion, jam your little finger as far as you can in the plug hole, just befor it gets stuck, then you need a mate to kick it off again, if you feel the piston the rings are ok and you dont need em!
first of all have you got ignition lights on when key is turned? does the bike have a spark from the plug undo the sparkplug and connect it back up to the HT lead and hold tip of plug near the cylinder head and turn engine over there should be a spark jumping from plug to head... dont try what scotishpetey suggests... lol... and if you want to check the compression buy a compression tester there not expensive and they are simple...
you would have to be fcuking stupid to put your fingers into the head whilst turning the engine over... always use the correct tools you get an accurate reading and diagnoise's becomes easier
