More power TDR or DTR
Permalink

Hi
Excuse my lack of knowledge on these bikes but does the TDR engine produce more power? Will it fit into a 2000 DTR?

Reading through the posts it appears that the standard exhaust with the restrictor is as good, if not better than a DEP front pipe. Already have a DEP silencer.

im not that familiar with the tdr but from what ive seen it runs an identical engine to he dtr

out of the 3 engines dtr,tdr and tzr they will all put out pretty much the same power output its not the engines themselves but more the gearing setups inside them

you have to remember that the dtr isnt designed for top speed but more for torque as it is an enduro afterall as is the tdr if you split a dtr engine and a tzr engine although its pretty much the same deal there are a few differences the gearing is one and also the dt engine has an extra clutch plate to cope with the torque thats required for going up steep hills ect

also you have to take into account weight differences and also fairing which would make the bikes quicker top end

bottom line is if you want the best engine setup for fast road use than the tzr is the one but it aint a straight swap

if your no that mechanicly minded id stay with the engine you got and mod it as best you can biggrin
