Been working on my list and this is what i need to have it pretty much done

Gbox bearings x2 £40
S.Arm bearings x2 £40
Bushes £16
Seal guard ( hopefully find that on eBay , Yamaha want £38 ! )
Chain guard £8
All plastics , from Yamaha that works out at £200 , from the Ebay guy in Portugal it works out £115
Tyres , still trying to decide on a pair
Headlight , Polisport £45
Handguards , Polisport £30
Indys £20
Tail tidy £35
Rear DEP ( garage have one @£25 but if i miss it it's £70 )
Battery £20
Seat cover
Exhaust gasket
Crank gasket
Sprocket
Chain
Braided hoses £50
Front M/Cyl repair kit £23 , if I can find a second hand cylinder then result
Brake pads £30
Sprocket bolt, nuts , brake disc bolts £20
Rear brake disc £47
Speedo drive holder ( right fork ) £15
Clamps for all the hoses on the bike £20
Carb clean + re-jet
S/arm end bolts £1 lol
Mirrors ( not sure i'm going to fit them )

I'm sure i'm forgetting bits but all this will get me a hell of a lot closer than I am . It's just sitting there looking like a big toy !!

Glad the respokes out the way because that was the only thing left that was a lump sum of dough . It's £100 to sort swingarm but its £20 a part , so can do it slowly as i'm seriously low on dosh .

Plastics it makes sense to get them one time , It'll be the ebay guy and that YZ looking rear fender . I know it has gaps etc but i'll make it work . Even if I have to take it to a specialist and get them to make a mould using both fenders as a marker .

Front fender will be the Acerbis SM one from Demon . It's cheaper than the OEM one and suits better than the UFO one .

Pics of the few bits im on about ...

Front Fender ( also like the headlight but it's pricey for me )

The headlight I was going to get , still my favourite but Yamaha have already told me they wont pass it on the MOT . I have to go there when it's done because that's who i've been working with all along . Been very helpful and done quite a few bits for free , the mechanics even know my name lol . They've already stated that they look forward to finishing it off for me and will take care of it . NOT sacrificing all that for a bloody headlight lol , they wont break the law

So this is the one I might end up with , still looks miles better than the OEM lump I had

Handguards , Polisport Integral . same ones weeman had

Also want those tyres ^^^^^^ but it's not a DTX setup I know

Really really want these levers , they look sweet as but cost bloody £100

Was looking at pics of what the bike looked like when new , mainly for how the red seat would look . Ideally I wanted a black seat cover but I think the red seat with SM wheels might be a winner !!

Ive personally not seen 1 DTR of my colours with SM wheels and a red seat , ive seen a few black ones though .

Also never seen this model before but the colour combo is wicked

Anyways I'm about to photoshop this pic and maybe get a closer idea of where I'll be

Oh yeah , theres a dude on the German DT forums who's been doing something similar . Stripped his bike down and built it up again . Tbh I wish I was a fast as this but i'm learning as I go . He's doing a lot more engine wise than I am and I cant wait to see the end result . Have asked permission and can post his pics

Pics

The start

Progress biggrin

Very nice !!!!

I think that the black n red DTR is a grey import 200cc version. Headlight looks way better than UK ones do / did.

Finally !!

Got my seat covered and I did it myself , it's dead easy . Took about an hour and that's just because I wanted no ripples . At the rear there's 2 folds but those were unavoidable . I'll see what I can do to sort them out but tbh you cant see them 1 foot back . Also at the rear at a certain angle you can still see where the seat was cut down at the rear . I couldn't care less about that bit though , just glad it's flush and no Yamaha logo .

Anyways I went to a car refurb place and he had loads of material to choose from , all colours . Found this anti-slip vinyl and it's exactly what I was looking for . Anyways £15 a metre and doing it myself , free !!

Here's the stuff , it's like rubber

Halfway through

Done

Here you can see the two folds , as I said I'll try to sort it

Spare

That sorted , hopefully hand-guards next

Cheers guys , this stuffs great tbh mate £15 a metre which is enough to do 3 if you cut wisely . I didnt , i made sure I wouldnt leave myself with too little material on one side .

It's very flexible and strong . Light as fook and easy to clean . An improvement over the original imo

underneath lol

Joshua, if you want to build a bike like this it WILL cost money - my bills probably pushing 1.5k and wont be as bling as MS's - this is as mine's going to be a trick daily driver.

Spare seat cover turned up yesterday and tbh the red with logo doesn't look too bad . Wont be using it on this seat though as it's already been cut down . Might get a spare seat and red material though to try it out .
