Dont start with the polishing wheels You start with a small object but it looks the bollocks and quickly becomes addictive and before you know it you'll be polishing everything thats alloy.Wear goggles and a dust mask if you decide to go down this road otherwise you end up with black snot and it looks like you wear eyeliner
Result , found this shop by accident and its not far from me... at all !!! . Has everything i need on display . A shop round the back that does all the servicing and parts galore . Even shotblast and paint . Was in there looking at all the little goodies that will be added later . £25 an hour labour and will happily help ( and charge ) if the DT gets too tricky

Can always enquire about stuff if anyone needs anything ,
If you spend that much time on the shock the bike is going to be like new when yer done with everything else :), looking good! Makes me want to strip my bike and properly clean it all.
Mugen Seiki that is coming on well mate... fairplay to you... so when is all the bits due back from the powder coaters??? whats your plans for the engine ie polish or paint??? whens the next updated pics coming??? i cant wait to see...
same place everything else comes from m8 e bay lol
you will need a bench grinder, polishing mop, and some polishing soap which comes in different colours for different metals like green for ally or blue for steel ect
you can buy kits with everything you need but i think there a bit pricey as you can get the same job with basic stuff
I recently refreshed my polishing gear and had all new wheels, soaps and abrasives for 45 quid.I do all my polishing jobs on a 6" bench grinder with an attachment to fit the mops onto.If you want the best polish compounds then try the Menzerna range as its the best i have ever used. Polishing is a very tediuos process which calls for lots of time and patience.I recently mirror polished my full stainless exhaust for the gsxr and it took me 14 hours! Dont expect fantastic results straight away.It will take practice to get the results. You also have to keep the alloy clean at all times. It will quickly oxidise if not regularly kept clean with a polish such as Autoglym Metal Polish.Riding through winter is definitley not advisable because the road salt will quickly eat away the alloy. But dont let all that put you off because done right it will look the bollocks!
Damn powdercaoters are mucking about . The place i initially took it to sent it off to another company to shot blast . So i go there to look at it and they say why not just leave it here and we'll powedercoat it to , just square it with the other shop . I say OK so off i go to square it .
Original powercoater ' guvner ' isn't there but his guys said yeah , leave it where it is and the ' guvner ' will call you if you owe us any money ( for taking it 2 mins down the road to another company  )
Just get a call from the place that has my bike ( the second coaters ) .
" The ' guvna ' of the other shop just called and said they're picking it up tonight and i shouldn't have painted it "
FFS , but he HAS painted it so why fecking pick it up ?? Just tell me how much i owe and piss off .
But of course the 'guvna' is on site and i cant get through to him so tomorrow i have to go talk .
They flippin told me to go ahead and give the other garage the go ahead !!! I'm going to find the scrawney feck that gave the go ahead .
Anyways I'll have to collect from them and square off any money owed , ( transporting it and maybe for the blasting )
Should have the frame back tomorrow and all the bits done in silver . The black and red bits will have to do tomorrow aswell . They were meant to be done today but whatever lol
