all the effort m8, well done. should of been on a six part tv show. so are you planning on riding the bike after you have finished. lol a wouldnt want to get it dirty after all the hard work. keep it up
£131 for all bearings , seals and bushes . That's to get the swingarm , bottom knuckle thing and rear shock together . Some bearings survived but these look kinda special .
Nice man they do come up nice after a good clean, I use auto glym on the wheels and even if there rusty before hand they always turn out shinnie again :).
I'm also toying with the idea of masking off the rims and just painting the spokes and hubs black .
It will be a mission to mask them but it will save almost £200
The shop wanted 11/2 hours ( £ 40-50 an hour ) to respoke them and add £50 + for new spokes . Just not worth it and the bills are starting to mount . I like the idea of black spokes with chrome lip .
I'm getting ahead of myself and wanting to mod out of my budget . I'll use the hammerite rust sealant I have ( not used yet ) and spray it all shiney black
Yeah i wondered if you were gonna go with new spokes or not when you found out the price.Quite shocking.I had my motard rims rebuilt a few years ago and cost me 200 for stainless spokes and fitting. That was a wheel specialist in birmingham and he was by far the cheapest. Just wire brush the spokes off and spray them up.It will look nice with black spokes too i reckon.
Hmmmmm , just put on 1st coat of this metal protect stuff and now I'm unsure of if I should leave them silver or go black . This stuff comes out really good , opinions please
too right... silver looks clean and tidy, good choice buddy... im thinking about striping my bike down and having the frame powder coated bright green like the stripes on my bike, at work we have a contract with a powder coaters so ill get it well cheap anyway...
thats why i cancelled my car insurance and just added me to the missus car insurance at no extra cost so i use my bike or the missus car... just got to sell my car now...
