Do it! Moto it!
Any model of supermoto dt wheel will fit straight in as far as i know
Or you could have the 17" rims fitted to your hubs and bolt them straight in that way. While doing it though i would look into fitting a bigger disc and better caliper to the front.Something like a four pot caliper would be great.
And you too can learn how to slide the rear while cornering

Build as Trailie ...

When Sorted ...

Buy 2nd hand wheels ... Keep Hubs, get anodised colour to match rims [red] ...get laced up to Exce Gucci Rims ...

Both bikes in 1 ...

Disadvantage .... small trail disk on supermoto wheels !
But small disc is enough for DT anyway [if not as cool !]

Hmmmm ,it's getting more interseting , think I might go this route guys . As I say the other wheels will still be there

So what you're saying is I can keep my forks and rear swing . I just need better brakes and a bracket ?

will rear brakes need sorting too ?

If you run with 2nd hand hubs [sorted & new bearings etc] laced to supa Gucci rims .. You can run with the same forks / swing arm...
and if you go with the orig' front caliper & disk [good enough for job m8, just not as fancy looking !] you will be able to swap wheels round in about 35 min's from street to trail ..!biggrin

Rear brake needs no messin with, more than adequate as weight grip all hits front under braking anyway !

If you go for big disc you will need caliper moving / replacing so it goes further away from spindle to match new disc & TRAIL WHEELS WON'T FIT ? UNLESS YOU HAVE SAME DISC ON TRAIL WHEELS ??

But if your going big disc' you will need adaptor plate or DT X forks ...
but to be honest if your going that far i would source some USD forks for full Gucci Supermoto Effect  awwawwaww

USD's Look far better than DT forks ...

No Argument There ..... wink

Ahh so im kinda getting it ...

My hubs work with my forks , if i change my hubs to SM hubs I have to change the forks too ??! Y/N ?

So I could use my OEM hubs , put Gucci SS spokes on and a blinging SM rim ... and still keep my forks ??!! Y/N ?

Ok so 2 more questions ..

Do they make a braket so I can mount the bigger brakes onto my DTR forks ?

Where the feck do I find DTX/TDR/TDRR forks ???? None on the bay and I'm guessing Yamaha will want over £200

No ... Not Really ... You will prob be able to get new Moto hubs which fit your forks ?!

Yes ..  But if you buy DT X wheels whole, you will prob have to get DT X Forks too ????? [I Think ??] [Gix / Baz / Boys ..Thoughts] Put your bike next to an X and look at forks ?]
Beware Fork Diam' May Need Top end yokes & clamps too ?

Yes .. If you decide on Waay Coool USD Forks for full Moto Cool [Upside Down Forks, as in on latest Sports / Supermoto / Cheap Chineese Trailies !!!]

and you could get em anodised a gucci colour !!!

Dunno ???
Custom part, made by specialist on a Milling Machine from billet of aluminium .... YES ... !
