hi im woundering if i can convert my dt125r (05) to have yz125 forks?
if so what modifiactions are needed and all parts? any help would be great! thanks tommy

yes mate you are on the same levels as me well kind of i want yz springs in my dt125x forks because its cheaper and i also want a yz back shock unit + all linkage to raze the whole bike + it will have harder suspen but sorry cant help you there as i haven ever tryed it and that is the only way trial and errer so go ebay and try it mate

First you need to check the stem sizes,length and bearing sizes to see if they are interchangeable.
Lockstops will almost certainly need modifying.
To harden the rear adjust the preload to set the sag.If its well too soft for you then change the spring for a stiffer one and use shorter tie bars to raise the rear

i agree with gixergav said but theres also the understanding of if ya have to ask then you shouldn't bother lol ,


stem and bearing issues could easily be sorted by swapping the dtr stem into the yz yokes the only other thing you would have to tackle then would be the lock stops if you're good with Arc/MIG , then its easily if not engineer shop would probs do it for like ten squid.



if you're wanting to higher the back end don't be a fool and just crank the prelaod right up as i saw one person do on a rx 125 basically ended up cracking the whole weld on the shock mount and was ****ing dangerous the proper route to go is either fit a taller shock or have a set of shorter dog bones machined up !,

yeah man i was doing the same thing, had to do a little modding to the yz yoke tho cuz the bearing cups and stem i had on my dt yoke was smaller. still trying to sort out what to do for the instrument panel tho. need something to fit the yz top yoke. i was also trying to work out if i could add a yz swing arm!!!!!confuse
