hi
the thieving scallies round our way tried to nick my beloved dt and in the process wharped my front brake disk so i need to replace it.

according to the manual i need to
remove the cable tidy bit on the fork (fine)
remove the 4 screws on the right fork (fine)
remove the speedo cable!
remove the wheel (but it doesnt tell me how to do this bit

I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer.  Do i just unscrew the speedo cable and then pull it out?
Once the 4 screws are removed and the wheel pivots on the left fork, how do i get the rest of the wheel out?

if anyone knows any video links for this then that would be brilliant, if not, helpful guidance would be equally appreciated.

Thanks a million
chip

easy peasy . Undo the 2 bolts on the right hand fork holding the spindle . Unscrew the speedo and pull it out . Undo the pivot bolt and slide it out of the hub . The wheel can now pull forward . Undo the 6 bolts holding the disc .

Remember to add grease to the spindle and bearings when putting it back on , dont have to but graese is good .

also the disc bolts might be threadlocked on , so that very first turn of the bolts is important , one sharp nudge should get them free . 4 or 5 nudges may round them off being allen key bolts

In addition to the above I always give bolts like the disk bolts a firm tap with a hammer or mallet to try and break the thread lock.

Make sure you use good quality non-rounded off allen keys or they will round of.

Final tip is to extend the length of the allen key with a tube so you can use more control and with your other hand hold it firmly into the bolt head.

If you round it off you could cut a slot into the head and use an impact driver / flat blade screwdriver attachment to get it out.
