Normally I'd say duff headgasket but this time I think you have an air lock. Take off the rad cap and give the pipes a good squeaze to try and shift trapped air.

DO NOT REMOVE THE CAP WHEN THE ENGINES HOT!

Hi
Thanks for the reply i think you may be right as when i started the bike before,  i removed the rad cap and when i used the throttle there was a lot of bubbles coming to the surface
So i will give your suggestion a try tomorrow.

Thanks again
~Mark~

fill rad up with coolent then put cap on start engine for about 30 seconds turn off then see if its gone down if it has then fill it back up 2 top make sure engine is cold tho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
other wise your going down A AND E 4 SEARIOUS BURNS!!!

mate you can take this as a matter of fact, it IS your head gasket, i had exactly the same problem, change your head gasket and it WILL fix the problem, full set top end gaskets £11.95 , 45 mins work, fixed. simple as that.

Hi
If it was the head gasket would it be leaking from the overflow pipe coming out of the expansion tank ?
And also there would be white spots on the head where it was leaking from.

Thanks Mark

look mate, my bike went into a yamaha dealership and that was the problem, if the gasket is blown it allows a small ammount air to be forced through the gasket into the coolant that surrounds the head, hence the pressurisation of the entire cooling system and a build up of pressure over time resulting in leakage. this is a matter of fact, do what i did if you like a fcuk about trying other things, but im telling you that IS the solution, that IS your only fcuking option if you want your bike to be fixed do the head gasket and stop pisssing about, end of fcuking storey!

Well thanks for your comment if your gona be rude about it DONT BOTHER !

I can actualy confirm that it wasnt a gasket problem there was a blockage it the system caused by a build up of limescale in the pipes as the previous owner must have used tap water..............
