They look good matches the rear light . Found a new place for the L plate , on the rear mudguard bit . It's out the way and still visible from the rear

barrel wasnt tooooo bad ..
IMG_0166.jpg
IMG_0167.jpg
didnt look so bad but thats only a 2 mp camera, and i hadnt cleaned it off properly :/ so decided to have it rebored and a new piston kit....
IMG_0180.jpg
IMG_0181.jpg
sorry .. no pics of piston n barrel separate, had to send off the island to be rebore and they matched a perfect fit piston there and they put it in with the rings on to save space and couldnt be bothered with rings ....
this was the cylinder head before..
IMG_0153.jpg
couple of sheets of wet 'n' dry and oven glass later and ....
IMG_0185.jpg

well £50 for the brakes .. only cuz i got stainless fittings. £40 otherwise. - didnt know if you wanted to know about that but now you do lol.

all the engine work so far is £91.02.
Rebore
mitaka piston kit
genuine gaskets - add up to £20 (inculded in the 90 quid), can get a full pattern kit for thatt but not good quality.
was abit pricey because i had to send it off the island to be rebored! £16 spent on postage! (incluced in the 90 quid)

ordered a small end bearing - not sure how much that is yet.
then wet 'n' dry for a 5r.

job done.

Remove the caliper and clean both the bolt and pin that it slides on (re-grease when you put it back on with normal grease). Take the pads out of the spring clips and clean these with some WD40 / GT85 etc, if the bracket has loads of alloy rot where they sit scrape this out with a flat blade screw-driver and replace. If the pads are ok you can clean the backs and put a small amount of copper grease on them where the piston / caliper body touches them and if you want to re-surface them you can put them face down onto a flat piece of concrete and rub them round in a figure of 8 (when you first use them after this they will be a bit weak for a mile or so - be careful!). Stick the pads back in and you can also put a small amount of copper grease on the end tabs so the pads cam move in and out in the bracket. Carefully apply the brake to push the piston out of the caliper body and clean it with WD40 + a toothbrush then push it all the way in when its dry. Finally when the brakes back together make sure you pump it a few times to stop yourself from having an OMG moment at the first junction you come to!

You done a really good job on your bike mate, looks loads better than when you started! Really like your tail tidy and indicators. Ive got an acerbis one but its screwed thru the rear fender and it really wobbles about when im riding. Do you get that problem with your one?

Might try something similar to you with my brakes because they really arnt that good atm, not very sharp and a bit spongy.

Fair play mate that should tidy her up smile.gif Its soo annoying when you jetwash decals off!!

Yeh it is a pain keepin them tip top!!

Im in the process of polishing my sumo rims atm its a right pain but they are getting there. Mine just needs a good clean to be near mint really. Gonna clean the frame, swingarm, exhaust and engine with brasso wadding to get rid of the winter grime, give all the plastics a good clean, wax/polish the tank. Ive ripped off the white viynl on the real panels aswell as they were a bit scratched and tatty, im gonna use some fresh white viynl from work to make new decals. When ive done all that she will be back to how she was in the summer!!

Oh yeh ive got my mod 1 2moz smile.gif

ahaha, hope he was alright. my main problem is my tank, my dad opened his car door onto it not once, not twice, but 5 times... he still claims it wasant him. and the swing arm is getting a little tatty but that just needs a sand and a respray :) should look good again after i get those 2 sorted :/
