Could a kickstart be put onto a 04 + model as they have the hole on the casing?

put a voltimeter on the battery and it should read more than 12v, if it doesnt then charge it lol, if your headlihjts only light up after you rev that can be a sign smile.gif

Crazy whats the score with fitting a kickstart ?  I assume its just the case of and fit the gear...remove blanking plate and fit the starter?

I just got my son a 04 dt but the starter is buggered and no kickstart . Im thinking it would be easier to blank off the starter and fit a kick .

What price for the full kickstart assembley (or starter if you have one)

it would be a case of taking the case off, putting kickstart assembly in with nylon clog and refitting case, hey presto, kickstart sorted lol, make me an offer smile.gif

just thought id ask, what have you done to check/fault find the starter problem?? have you checked battery with voltameter? then check power from battery to starter solinoid, clicked electric start botton to see if the voltage rises? have you tried this from the opposite side(output) of solinoid and have you tried a main feed from battery to starter motor? is your solinoid clicking? let me know and may be an easy fix smile.gif

you might need a seal for the kickstart as it just has a blanking cover where the kickstart normally fits...

i had to bumpstart my dtre for 15k miles because the starter motor went and they are like rocking horse **** to find... £230ish from dealers or close to 100 on egay... I got lucky and found a cheap bottom end with starter.. Its the bushes that wear and it no longer makes a contact..

try this though.. put the bike in 2nd roll it backwards (clutch out) so you hear the starter turning then put it back into neutrel and try fire it again.. mine used to work like that for a while...

Starter is totally fubar . Magnets are all broke and the copper wiring is melted in 3 places .

£10 crazy for all the bits? plus a few ££ P&P ? I would prefer to sort the electric but as mentioned there pretty rare and i have enough other work to do on the dt withought lashing out a load on a new starter .

Im also after a clutch lever with mount and the little switch and wiring
Pair of decent mirrors
Carb mounting block (between carb and engine)
Decent nick black front mudguard
Screw on 2 stroke oil cap
rear light bracket with no broken mountings
