gear shifter seal ????

Wot do you call the seal that gear shifter goes through..???

Also can i just pop this oil seal out with a screwdriver and slap  in a new one with out dismantling anything...eg slide it down the shifter and pop it in....of course bike would be lying on its side so gearbox oil isn't over the place...


theirs a wee leak everytime i stop the engine...must be something to the dealer topping up too much gearbox oil in it during its pre sale inspection.

yes mate if you drive a couple self taping screws in it then put 2 sets of pliers (one on each and pull they will come out without scoring any of case, the seal you want is a gear selector seal and just pop the new one on after smile.gif

probably be hard to find them on there, a local motorcycle parts shop will do a cheap pattern one for about £2 matesmile.gif

yeah you were right couldn't find one on fleabay ,i think i will travel 13 miles 2morrow for it...any excuse to get out and about away from the troll indoors.biggrin

Only if she's good looking and thin..also is a f**king mute is a really must be requirement.LOLbiggrin

top one satelliteone, just looked at that site and found a internal circlip for my micron allspeeds baffle holder for my rd1215lc lol, cheers mate smile.gif

did the above and changed in about 1 min....however i did drain the oil first- was a 2 minute job..cheers for the advice :p

should of just lent the bike over save draining the oil mate
