Dog bone (suspension linkages) sizes?

Just been messing around in the shed and come across the dog bones from my 2003 and 1995 dtr.

The 2003 ones are 18mm shorter than the 95 ones.

Just wondering if this is normal or has someone had them made to shorten the old bike'? (although it definately wasn't that small from what i remember! )

This is how the bike looked before i stripped it:

(i still have the whole bike in the shed in bits biggrin most of it anyway )

I suppose i should say aswell if anyone needs them (the lowering ones) i'll swap for the normal size ones as these are only getting chopped anyway to use as templates for my jack up ones being made.
