HI LADS NEW TO THE SITE I HAVE A YAMMY DT LC 1988 BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM WHEN I GO OUT ON IT CHUGS OUT WITH SMOKE AND WONT CLEAR

ANYONE NO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS

what colour is the smoke?blue?black?blue/white etc, also is your engine spluttering? smile.gif

ok it sounds like head gasket or under rich mixture smile.gif is it using alot of water out radiator? also is your 2 stroke going down too ???smile.gif

radiator is full its not using water and its using the oil

its only started to do it since i opened the power band up now its shut its just relly boggy and smokey like its hitting the limiter but its not

wip that plug out mate, have a look at it, should be like a digestive biscuit colour.
Also have you got a servo fitted to this, or just turned the valve ? sounds like it might just need a good thrashing to clear it out...lol
if not then i would be looking at the carb settings as crazy says..!

i wipped the plug out mate and its black sooty colour
it aint got a servo its tweek it your self 1

i have thrashed it but aint doing nothing

sounds like the mixture is too rich now lol, try doing a pre mix with tank, i can put my money on it thats what it is smile.gif

have you got a pic of a dt carb so i no which pipe to take off and block it so i can mix my own petrol and oil

the pipe will come from your gearbox next to kickstart, follow the tube to either inlet manifold in between carb and engine or if yours feeds to the carb?

if you get confused, follow it from your 2 stroke bottle smile.gif

theres a big pipe that comes from the 2 stroke bottle to the kick start casing then a small one comes out and goes to the carb which ive took of

how much oil shall i put in as ive just bought £5 worth of petty
