odd.
any funny rattles? or knocking?

mine had no top end rev power and was rattling, top speed of 60-65ish.. piston looked like this.. https://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac14/craigbulmer/IMG_0162.jpg

but mine was slowly dying, sounds like yours has just happened, must be something else

could be air leak from being knocked, also as craig said pv setup or back pressure(eg hole in exhaust), also failing all of the above cdi unit and alternator wink.gif

big ass chunky mx tyres would slow you down a bit.. loads more resistance.. shouldnt make you lose top end though..

been ragging it?

if its the wheels you have changed not just the tyres, this would happen if you had a bigger sprocket on the rear wheel as you would loose top end wink.gif

it could still run but very badly and would smoke and not idle properly, try you pv setup and get a compression tester on it bud, also see if you can borrow some1's cdi to test it and eliminatewink.gif

nah you wont have to spend money out on it I wouldnt have thought.. I was thinking maybe a crappy spark and thats easy to test... should be nice and blue.. plug should be brown too..

Normally when my dtre does what yours is doing its because of the derestriction wire but you should still get more than 65 just you lose your power in the higher revs so its much harder to get past 60.. If yours is has power in the higher revs then its got to be something simple

also ive found you need to get quite high up in the revs on 5th before changing upto 6th on slight inclines else you lose power...

if its got power in the higher revs it prob aint compression/pv/spark probs...
