hi my dtr125 (98) does every thing it should to start but it wont, the wright fuel and air settings are to the book i have checked the wireing thats fine it is when i kick start my bike it fires up but just wont run can any1 help i have had people out to look at this and they cant find anything wrong with the bikes set up overall
I cant , my bike wont start or move while stands down . Funny as it did the first time I ever started it . Tried disconnecting it and it wont start at all ... just like when stands down .
its a brand new spark plug in it i have had it checked over and they cant find a problem with the bike. also the settings for everything has been checked again and they were fine but still cant get it going
damp ht im almost 100% from what you've described its just like mine was take it all off and stick it on something warm for a few hrs either that or your way down on compression and need rebuild
just done that new gaskits top and bottom bolts and nuts torqed to settings in the book also new piston and rings barrels just rebored to al wireing redone all fine the only thing that hasnt been checked is the gear box but that will have realy nothing to do with it not starting
try cleanning out the carb sounds like a sticking float needle to me buddy

you got that switch on tha handlebars in the correct position, some ****er had been playing with my bike one time when i was at work and thats what stopped mine from working.
i reckon its something to do with your electrics tbh, you say all the wiring was redone, maybe you should have it all double checked, just one dry connection and the bike wont start, simple as.
dodgy kill switch? just had to replace mine.. getting a good spark? i know its a new plug but it would be useless if the spark wasnt there...
or keep kicking it.. sometimes my 89 is a right bitch. sometimes its starts no prob then other times I gotta kick it like 100 times.. and its not my carb either cos thats gleaming inside..

Lol No idea mate you'd have to ask whoever owns my clocks at the moment lol .
It's definitely something funny going on because for the first time it stayed on for about 20 seconds with stand down the shut off . Took switch off completely and bike wouldn't start at all .

If you take the switch off you will never start the bike in gear, you would have to fit a shorting wire into where you disconnected the stand switch, I still thing you have neutral switch issues though because in neutral the bike should start with stand up...or down.
