Another update!!! lol

Heard form the mechanics today, they said they fitted a 1.75mm oversize piston and it was still rattling so they had to send the barrel to a engineering place to be measured properly! The engineers have said it needs a rebore.

They have ordered a 2mm oversize piston kit and the engineering place are re boring my cylinder to that piston so hopefully when i get my bike back everything will be ok. They have said it should be ready on tuesday!!

Wont be using those mechanics again in a hurry!!!

Got my bike back today after they rebored the cylinder and fitted a 2mm oversize piston, sounds sooo much better now and the kickstart is a lot firmer so more compression biggrinbiggrin

Connected my PV servos back up aswell!!

It seems to pull way better from low revs and doesnt drop speed if i stay at constant revs on a slight hill! Havent taken it above 5k yet and wont be for about 300 miles!

Im thinking now that my PV servos were always backwards as its made so much difference and coz the old piston and rings were in decent condition the compression couldnt have been that low.

Im just glad they have got it right this time!!! biggrin

Cheerz craig! Nah they didnt charge me anymore!! Your right in times like this you cant afford to mess your customers about, i won have any mechanic work done there but will use them for oil and bits

Im worried that if i rip the yz stickers off it will take the stickers underneath off and look a mess!! Will get some new pics up 2moz!

Cant dt cylinders be re-sleeved then?

Yeh i was thinking bout the extra cc, would the bike need to be upjetted to see the effects of the extra cc?

Cant wait till ive done the run in!! Top speed i got before was 75, im gonna see if it alters at all with the fresh top end and extra 1mm bore on the cylinder, ive also removed the reed switch from the back of the speedo which should help!! biggrin

nah you wont need to mess with the jettings ..

Been out on my bike today with my mate on his yzf 450 quad, had a good blast around on road then went for a play off road!! Took a couple of pics!!

The day ended up badly for my mate tho, we had just come off a park where we had been ragging round back onto the road and my mates quad just dumped all its coolant/water out with a big hiss, we looked down to find 2 cracks in the cylinder from top to bottom!!! Luckily we was right by his house so we pushed it back.

Hehe they will come off one day!! When i cant take the jip no more!!! lmao..

Yeh the quad is a beast, my mate wants to make his mind up on what he wants tho!! He had a 02 YZF 426 supermoto (on road converted from off road), swapped that for a 98 R1 then swapped that for the 04 YFZ 450 quad!! Think hes gonna keep the quad for a bit now tho. Hes had to take the engine out and take it somewhere to be repaired after mullering it the weekend!!!

Im having a new back tyre fitted 2moz just gonna get the Bridgestone Trailwing 302 replaced with a new one, then gonna fit the rear brake pads ive got within the next few days.

I no it would look better without the rack but i use it to strap my fenderpack onto to carry my almax chain. Are the hpires rear fenders the sort of pointy ones? Have you got a link to one? Im pretty pleased with how it looks at the moment the only thing i would change is the rear fender as i think it looks a bit short and droopy!!

Cheerz about the tyre, it bloody cost me enough. £97 for the tyre, new innertube and fitting to the bike! The old one had worn square, there was only about 1.5mm left in the middle. Went out with my mate on his quad the other day and couldnt get any traction neither could i stop so had to bite the bullet and get it changed!!

Has someone sprayed your panels then or has the tank been resparyed?

I think the tanks been reprayed imo its almost a purple colour, when i got my hpires fender i compared it to the panels and they were about the same colour but the fender against the tank there was a massive difference it really did look like a bluey purple

I no mate! The tyre i had is a dear one tho. I had a look into those maxxis tyres you got and i cant find out for defo if they are road legal. From what i can find on the internet the Bridgestone TW302's which ive got last agesssss. I think the one i just took off is the original tyre so done 10,000 miles. Doubt the maxxis will last that long.
