I dont think ill be doing anything like changing forks, i just wanna do a few bits like shorter sm mud guard, fork gaitors and headlight then i think im done.

I also want a lower profile tyre on the rear but wont do that for a while untill ive this one is dead and ive saved some money up, alought my mates say they prefer the fatter rear tyre!

One thing i would love is a white powder coated swing arm, forks, yokes and risers!!......

As i said on fb, lower the mudgaurd so its just above front wheel. Fork gaitors but not the headlight, well at least not the polisport one i really don't like it.
As for the YZ stickers, its false hope aint it? It's like me telling some bird im hung like a black man, and when they get to the package they realise i aint no black man :P

LMAO @ woll!!

I will be changing the headlight, mud guard and fork gaitors in the future when i have saved a bit of money up. After buying the wheels, tyres and my cr 80 im well skint and next thing im buying a a piston kit for the cr to put on that ( for piece of mind).

Im not 100% sure on what headlight i want, i like the twin headlight style ones. I will get a shorter front mud guard but wont be spacing it down and will proberly go for the acerbis fork gaitors.

I think i am gonna have a go at removing some off the stickers the previous owners stuck on but im very unsure of trying the tank stickers as i really dont wanna pull any laquer off. Ive been reluctant to remove them up untill now coz i dont want it to look crap where ive pulled them off.

Im really pleased with them. We have had a bit of rain the last few days which has taken the shine off them a bit cry.gif

Got the auto glym metal polish out tho and got them shining again, gonna be a knigtmare in the winter!! lol

hmm one thing i would say is tail tidy :( Really needs sorting! the indi just dont look rite, drill some holes in the side of the tidy at the top and mount them there, + first time i may say this but might look better with a LARGER :O plate? :s

Im still very undecided what im gonna do next to her!!!! Im still very happy with how shes looking at the moment so think it will be a month or 2 before i do anything else!!

Not much has changed on my bike for a while except ive had to remove my dep and fit a standard exhaust chamber as it rusted thru. Also i lost a bit of my side decal at the jetwash a few weeks ago cry.gif

She was absolutly filthy so decided to give her a well deserved wash and clean in the sunshine!
Came up quite well i think didnt go mad, gonna give her a propa going over soon tho, take the wheels off to auto sol and go over the whole frame, engine, swing arm etc with brasso wadding, then back to black all the brake lines and anything black!!

you got braided lines yet? Can't remember if you have and i cba reading all the thread again to find out lol, if you haven't get them :) make a massive difference to the brakes if you get sintered pads (i remember you getting them) my dts front brake is 100 times better than my bandits front brake.

Nah i havent got braided brake lines just standard and yeh i did get sintered pads front and rear!

Tbh i dont think ill be spending much more money on modifying it coz im only planning to keep it for another year then pass my test and get a big supermoto. Ive got it looking nearly how i want it just need a supermoto front mud guard and some hand guards and then im done i think apart from getting my dep repaired and re fitted. Will only spend money on it then to keep it well maintained etc. My MOT is due in November think i might need a new front tyre but fingerz crossed thats it!!

Looks good mate but I'd have to have the X rear brake and some fat bars as the original brake is awful and always needs stripping and cleaning. Also I'd re-locate the indicators as they appear as if they are too low (personal choice again).

Cheerz bud ive just fitted some new indicators a week or 2 ago that are not as long as the ones before, they are in the same place but look better as they don't stick out as far!

The rear brake caliper has given me no problems whilst I have had the bike, I've been thru 3 of pads on the rear!

Ive got anadised blue rental bars on at the mo but I've seen nathans fat bars which look ace tho. I've just started enduro racing and av bin spending most my money on my tm 250 so am only buying stuff I really need for the dt!

Gonna get some decent new pics up soon.

My front brake went **** tbh, i had cheapy pads, standard brake line and the bolt on the lever wasn't hitting the piston on the resevoir properly, you literally had to wait to stop, I almost knocked someone over on a zebra crossing as my brakes wouldnt stop me!!!! I changed lever as mine had bent, changed to sintered pads and HEL brake line, its a stoppie machine now haha.

Yes you can get the stock front brake to do that if you look after it - went to pull a stoppie on my old white DT-R years back and burst the braided hose! Turned out it had been rubbing on the disc under full compression and then decided to go pop! Shat myself as I went straight on at some red lights....

Yeh it was propa bad, they give no grip at all really in the snow!!

That last pic has made me realise the rear tyre profile is way too big. I wanted a 140/70/17 but when i went to the tyre place the closest they had in partworns was a 140/80/17. Not gonna change it tho will be selling it in the new year when i pass my test.

I've given up riding the SM at mo as the roads round here are like glass and last year I had a crash on black ice so am either sponging a lift off the GF or walking....

Not the best in the snow and ice are they the sm rims!! I find it ok in the day but in a morning or on a night the slush freezes and then it gets really bad!

Got my MOD 1 on Tuesday. I think im gonna ride my xjr 400 for about 6 months then come summer sell both the xjr and the dt and buy a Honda XR 650 SM smile.gif
