I need to replace my clutch cover gasket as its leaking. Is it as simple as taking the kick start lever off, taking all the screws that hold the clutch cover on replacing gasket and refittng or is there more to it than that! The oil pump is attached to the clutch cover do you have to take this off or can it come off with it in place? Also what do you do with the water pump?

i need mine done aswell i do believe u have to strip that side right back so the exhaust, water and oil pump, back brake and kickstart that is what i was told. as for using the one you linked i cant see a problem with it but personally i like to use original ones
well the water pump has to come off with the clutch cover so you gonna need to refill your coolant, my exahust was in the way of getting mine off so i had to remove that too.
a friend done mine today had to had to strip the oil pump, take off he water pump housing and the exhaust so there was plenty of room to work , but now my clutch feels a little iffy!!
The leak on my clutch gasket has got wayyyy worse today! Luckily the gaskets arrived this morning! Gonna do mine in the morning along with the head gasket, my mate is gonna give me a hand just to make sure its all done correctly!!
Glad yours is done conn, wot does the clutch feel like now? Is the oil level correct?

my lever is stiff and when i change gear it sticks abit, i need clutch springs so hopefully this is why it is like it, we measured mine and according to the manual my friend had they were below the the service limit also found a new oil leak YIPEEE lol in the gear shift gasket lol but thats a really easy one to do apparently then i should be leaky free lol
Hehe at least its an easy one to do! At least you should have it sorted soon, is your mate gonna do the clutch springs? Everytime i think my bike is running spot on another little niggle with appear!!
Fingerz crossed everything goes ok 2moz with my gaskets! Will do clutch cover, head, water pump, exhaust and oil pump gaskets 2moz they have all gotta come off anyway. Think im gonna repair the tiny hole in my dep header while its off aswell with that gum gum stuff.
yeah il just let my mate do it all lol he seems to know what hes doing and has all the tools and hes cheap!, just be carefull as the phillips screws holding the clutch cover gasket on are gash i screwed one of the heads up on it but luckily my mate managed to get it out with an impact screwdriver then when we put it all back together we used stainless steel allen bolts and greased them up so there shouldnt be anymore problems in the future
when i bought my bike the previous owner had it sat around for about 7-8 months, so every time i fix something i find something else wrong but it seems to be getting better now thanks god
Me and my mate did the clutch cover gasket and head gasket today, all went well. The nasty oil leak has stopped and im not losing coolant anymore and coolant has stopped running out the overflow. Result!!!!
Also replaced those other gaskets. Turns out i didnt have a hole in my dep was oil from where the exhaust gaskets was leaking. Did notice that it has been repaired in the past tho, has a big blob ov weld covering somet right below the flange by the engine so its hard to see without the exhaust off and inspecting it.
Yeh your rite mate those screws are a pain in the arse, good idea to replace them with bolts! We didnt, lol!
Yeh im hoping that ive sorted all the niggles out now aswell!!! Forgot about my sticking rear caliper gotta sort that out!!

Was chuffed mate but i think the head gasket has blown again!! Only lasted 120 miles! Gonna get the head skimmed and fit a gen yammy gasket. Thats gotta sort it.... i hope!!
I think either the heads warped or the 2mm rebore and oversize piston has raised compression and the gaskets cant handle it im thinkin the first tho. Gonna order me a yammy gasket 2moz and send the head to be skimmed at an engineering place so i know for definate the head is nice and flat to get a nice proper seal.
