Supermoto tyre sizes

Right lads ive just bought some supermoto rims for my DT and im after a set of tyres for them. Ive been advised to use 120-70-17 front and a 140-70-17 rear but want to know what tyres you lot are running on your supermoto rims on your dt's! I want a nice wide set that are not to high profile.

Cheerz lads

Cheerz mate

Do you find those tyre sizes look wide and low enough?

Im not sure weather to drop the profile size to 60 and have the tyres a tad wider!!

If you can get a 110 front it'll quicken up the steering a bit. 60 or 70 profile don't look too different if its bling you're after. 70 is better in fact cos you get a greater sidewall area meaning better grip when cranked over (if cranked over can be applied to DTs!)

cheerz for that mate, i think im just gonna go with the standard dtx sizes in the above post. Seems to be what most ppl with supermoto wheels on dts have fitted.

Haha and yeh it is bling im after but also want some nice grip for the twisties!!

Cheerz mate. Ive spoke to a local tyre place and they have got those sizes in part worns which will have to do for the time being!

Stupid question but are dtx wheels tubeless or do they have innertubes? Im wondering if i will need innertubes for my wheels even tho they arnt dtx wheels like.

Right ive been searching my local motorbike tyre places coz i can only afford part worns on my new rims. Ive found a place that will fit the part worns i buy from them for free, they have got the correct front size (120/70/17) but for the rear the closest they have got is 140/80/17.

Do you think this will be a problem regarding handling? Also do you think it would look odd? Tbh i dont think ive got much choice due to funds but will save up for a nice new matching set soon!
