hi my names mark, iv recently bought a dt 125 r 1998, iv never owned one before though iv always had a few rs aprilia's and such, i think the dt trial type bikes are the best bikes to ride by far especially to view the good old northern irish countryside. since reading through this site i have feel in love with the idea of converting my dt into a SM. my bike is pretty plane atm, the previous owner had a full decal set of skulls crossbones (not to my taste) so i took them off the bike is all black now. my plan was to get the bike airbrushed and kitted out with new decal and a new base coat. though i dont want to rush in and get the standard parts sprayed without experimenting a little with getting some new SM type parts fitted first. i was just wondering if you guys could help me out with telling me some parts to buy perhaps off ebay, im looking through alot of acerbis stuff online (head lights, mud guards and tail tidy's etc.....) but i dont know whats going to be easy to fit or wat parts will look well. i am a technician by job so i have no problem doing a little DIY on my bike as i have done before any many of my cars and bikes. my main issue is fittment i dont wana go and buy alot of gear of ebay and opening up a can of worms as to what will be easily fitted and run into alot of problems. could yous please shed some light and perhaps give me some ideas of what people have previously done and provide me with some part id's or numbers. what i hope to change is the front mud guard, rear tail, head light, hand guards and possibly some rear side panels (i like the look of the DTX side panels). i see some of the acerbis stuff is quite cheap and i like dis smile.gif so please any help or info is much appreciated. also anyone got any good ideas for a colour/decal scheme.

regards Jordy.

Welcome to the forum Mark!

Most ppl who supermoto dtr's use the dtx setup. You need the DTX Wheels, forks, spacers and front break caliper and disk minimum. Ive ordered a set of custom made wheels which consist of dtr hubs laced to 17inch rims. You could go down that route but use the hubs you have aready got, buy some spokes and 17inch rims and take them to a motorbike shop to have fitted and trued

As for a headlights the Polisport MMX is nice.

There is a nice rear fender that is more modern looking (yz style) that you can get on ebay from a portugese seller, look at the stickeys in framework section.

Ive got an acerbis tailtidy which fitted fine to my yz style rear fender

You can also get nice graphics sets from D&D Graphics. Search them on google.

Hope that is of some help mate!!

Neaten up

Supermoto

Them are both my threads, the first one where i neaten it up abit getting rid of the clumsy rear light and massive indicators etc, the second is where i supermoto it, about half way down the page of the second thread youll see the finished product.

Most of the parts i used were acerbis most are pretty universal, the rear light i used was a drc edge 2 with the clear lense and the indicators i used were just some from ebay, all the supermoto parts i used(i.e. wheels, swingarm, brakes, forks) were off the yamaha DTX.
