Ive been looking for a hydraulic clutch conversion kit for my bike and went on the venhill website and they offer it for 'only' £200 I checked on ebay and found this;
After having a chinese 4 stroke 50cc for a couple of months it told me not to trust any of the cheap chinese things but this is only 20 quid and it looks near enough the same as the venhill clutch
Anyone think i should give it a try or does anyone want to tell me why i shouldnt get one??
just had a few thoughts, unless you can fit your own custom cable in the actuator(i think its called) you will actually have to fabricate some kind of part to connect it up, also mounting the actuator on the standard fitting will be a challenge, ive got some drawings down of the problems you will encounter but i cant be asked uploading them
doesnt look to bad to fit, it's never been near a CNC (I did a short CNC coarse at college) and as for quality it looks a bit cheesy but that doesnt mean it wont work better than the cable.
I bought a Chinese plasma cutter last year to replace my old sealy one and the £250 cheesy Chinese one works better than the £600 sealy ever did.
A cable that cost 50p to make after its gone through Yamaha, the wholesaler and the dealer now cost £20. Most of the Chinese stuff is bought straight from the factory by the hundred and shipped straight to the man selling on ebay.
Just looked again, this one comes strait from the factory in hong kong to you. So not even a middle man.

The cable type is heavy initially as it overcomes the clutch spring pressure, and then eases as the leverage fulcrum is overcome, the hydraulic type is more linear in feel and less effort to pull.

right, i just done some quick measuring, and from the looks of the pic aslong as there is about 105mm minimum between the 2 red lines ive drawn on it should be almost ok to fit, providing theres enough lenght in the hose thats provided, else you will need to have your own made.
Please bear in mind i just done some really quick measuring so you might want to double check.

well im glad people didnt think it was a stupid idea. yeah im probably gonna get one just to try it. i still dont know if i would trust it in the long term though. i dont have my DT anymore so im gonna try it on my new bike, ill still post pictures up though if people want to see them.
oh btw, i emailed the seller and he says the hose length is 90cm and the distance between the 2 red lines on my pic is 92mm, so unless you can mount it closer or fabricate something to make up the extra 15mm you will have a problem(on a DT ofcourse).

Ahh how nice it is to have a ktm were it comes as standard, maybe look on ebay for someone breking a newer bike? then you now it will fit and be of magura quality, also on them it tells you to fill them with proper hydraclic clutch oil but all its only dot 4 brake fluid in a fancy bottle!
haha jack my brother has the EXC 525 and he always needed to bleed his! I hope that after that cheeky comment you have problems with yours aswell! The newer bikes dont have the same design as the conversion kit so i cant do that otherwise i already would have :(

ktm junk the one on my sx was a aright pain i had to bleed it every time i used the bike
Hydraulic clutch is for people who ain't manly enough for a cable, my mate had a ktm with one and when he used to ride my crf he had to use his full hand to pull it in whereas i could just use 1 or 2 fingers
