Hi i have a problem with my bike, when attempting to start it will just fire and blow smoke but wont run. The engine has been fully rebuilt, so i cant see it being a mechanical fault. Ive taken the plug out and kicked it over, but the spark seems to be irregular. Ive tried looping the stand switch, still same problem, i swapped over ignition coil, and pickup, still wont run. Im starting to run out of ideas, please help!!!
May sound stupid but i was having trouble with the bar switch not connecting properly,full of ****e,so i didnt know whether it was on or off.I had to link it and it started first time.
Cheers for the reply mate, Yea ive had that with the bar switch in the past. I solved the problem in the end, turned out to be a faulty cdi unit. i had a spare one lying around which was from a 1992 model, the bike will now start, but cuts itself out if you try and accelerate....
