Big-One exhaust

Hi all,

Right now I have a stock front pipe with DEP silencer combo which is working fine for buzzing about on, question is what are Big-One expansion chambers like compared to stock?

I have one sat in the shed (missing the front part) and before I buy a new mount want to see what folk think about 'em. I can tell that because its a single skin pipe its going to be noisier....

Cheers!

Ben

Never had one or been on a bike that has one personally but people on here seem to think it's $hitter than the standard gutted.

Wait for some more 'valid' opinions and then you can make a decision smile

Cheers! Guess the only advantage is that its half the weight....

Pity companies like FMF etc dont make something for the DT125R as I had their pipe on my DT200WR and it made it fly!

Weird really that they make pipes for rare bikes like the WR but not mega common ones like the DTR...

I think it's been posted that the gutted stock is better then the DEP for top end, and from my own experience the top end is better but it dont seem to have any sort of crazy powerband, acceleration or the superb sound of the DEP

I've had a gutted stock exhaust and a dep and the difference is night and day. My bike is so much faster with the dep exhaust in every way!

big one dont make much power below 7k

standard dont make no power after 7 k

best exhaust for good power sound is arrow power kiks in erly and puls strong up to about 10500 revs

Depending which pipe you have standards actually pretty good. Bought one off ebay for £25 expecting it to be really restrictive, can't really notice any difference compared to the dep I had on my old bike. Also it's about half the weight of my mates standard pipe, fook knows what's inside that thing but restrictive as hell. If you're looking for extra power get yourself a 34mm carb, best mod by far that I've seen on a dt.

Yeah true but it's deffo worth it performance wise and it's about £20 for a carb or £100+ for a zaust.

Easy enough if you know where to go. Breakers near me sells carbs for £20 each, whatever the model. Don't see why you couldn't just fit any carb tbh, even just a standard 34mm rs carb?
