Earlier this week I brought my first DT. Full DEP system, Runs great and goes like hell. Only problem is the old battered blue panels! I'm planning on a respray to return this bike to its former glory :D  Unfortunity I have never done anything like this, I need help on the best places to buy primer? Good spray paint? How many coats to give then panels? Any help would be great :)

You cant move posts ; )

Personally I wouldnt bother painting DT panels - get some new or decent 2nd hand from ebay as over time the paint will flake off the flexible panels.

Ive sprayed most off my bikes and am about to also spray my dt. i get hycote paints from ebay at £2 a can and then just combine the packaging for a number of cans its really cheap!
Youll need primer, colour, laquer.
The primer youll need is a plastic primer.
Youll need a good clean surface also so spiritis or panel wipe will be needed to degrease the panels before spraying, youll also need a well ventilated room to spray in.
Then probably use 2 coats primer 3 coats colourr and 3 coats laquer.
Oh i also like to wet sand my primer with around 400-600 to remove any imperfection that may show up after the top coat of colour goes on.
(well thats what i do and it comes out good enought if not use 1 more coating on each).
One sprayed leave to bake/cure. Just to be sure u i leave mine for 2 days if it not really warm but if it pretty warm (which i doubt it will be "english weather" usually 24 hours.
Also first coating of each seperate paint should be a dust coating which is just a slight spray "mist" over the panel.
Make sure you have a good key to spray the colout and primer onto (use a emery cloth usually).
I think thats about it.
