Hi, i see a lot off people on here have converted there dt125s for more off a sm look. Just wondering what options i have for a new seat because it seems a bit "dated" and am wanting a newer look but without modding the panels loads. Can anyone help. My dt is a DT125r 1989

im thinking of re fomeing my seat to a more modern cr and tz type seat i no the pic is crappy but im going to try shape it like this with the hp fender should look sweet
Seems a shame, but because I'm going black with my bike, I've got to change a new and perfectly good BLUE seat cover for a BLACK one, anyway I got to thinking about modding the seat itself by cutting out and inserting a piece of 'GEL' (at my age the old farmers can give a bit of gyp, especially on long distances, lol) I've tried sourcing medical gel blocks on ebay but have had no joy, nearest thing I've found is this
And if you look in the for sale section, I also have the material to cover your seat too!

take the cover off, reshape the foam and plastic and recover, its what i did anyway

I know this thread is really old but I've just got a simple question :)
Do you mean the plastic underneath the seat foam, the plastic that's part of the seat? If so, did you just heat it and bent it down? Do you think it will look good (better than before) on a dtr -03 with standard rear fender?
EDIT: Never mind, I found the stickied thread about reshaping the seat! :)

No idea the actual size man i'm useless at guessing measurements. It cost £15 for enough to do 4 seats so £30 should be moooorrre than enough. It's better to get too much though that way you have room for errors.
To reshape the seat took about an hour, it's not difficult but doing it slowly and mock fitting fender every few mins took most of that time.
Dunno mate you'll have to search about on google, either that or nip down to Penzance and hope my mates got his on the line drying out tonight, he's a big lad, so there'll be plenty for your seat

Did you ever do this mate? Was thinking of doing the exact same thing so it looks more like the WRs seat, and more importantly giving me a bit more space between the seat and the pegs, feels like a pit bike after riding my mates WR lol. Might also raise it a little with shorter dog bones as well.
