DT125X Exhaust pipe de-restriction question
Permalink

Hey guys, I'm new here, so I want to ask about fuel consumption. Does the bike use much more fuel? I'm interested in de-restricting it, but I want to know if I will be able to afford it if fuel consumption is twice as it was. wink

Started new topic as I didn't get an answer in the old one.

Hi Martyna, welcome.

I have a DTX with a full dep exhaust. A full tank of petrol costs me around £8 and gives me about 90-100 miles. But I do only use it at the weekends and tend to be abit throttle happy with it sometimes. Depending on it's purpose, if was going to be a commuter bike everyday i'm sure you would get some more MPG out of it.

Thanks for reply. So it's not so bad. Maybe I will de-restrict it.
Is the difference big between full dep and gutted stock exhaust?

So if my bike 'eats' 5 liters for 60 miles, if I gut the pipe it won't be a big difference?

Not to the fuel consumption, I can still get more than 60 mpg if I want to.. hand can be abit too much throttle happy though haha.

So can you just tell me how much bigger it gets? It was 5l/60miles. Will it be around 7-8l or more?
Is there a big defference in acceleration between stock and gutted stock?
Cheers aww
