How to trim your seats

It's the main thing I get asked by DT heads so this should help a few people, this mod took me at most a couple hours to do

Trimmed seat so it's flush with HP rear fender or any fender for that matter.

1. Go to a car upholstery place, usually found at the back of some Industrial Estate, forget eBay and forget paying Yamaha £80. I got enough material for 4 seats for £15

2. Ask for waterproof material usually in specific colours so if you want fancy, dye it

Looks like this

3. Take the cover off your seat and it will look a crap as this

4. Get a knife/sander whatever and make it look like this. DO NOT CUT OFF TOO MUCH, go by stages and keep mock fitting with fender!!!!!! I cut the plastic under the seat too as it sticks out too much, look at pics and compare

SAND IT SMOOTH, I couldnt be bothered tbh but do it trust me

5. Fit new cover pulling everything tight, this material stretches much better than the OEM stuff. Staple gun and crap load of staples

6. Sorted
