coolant in the oil!!!

hi my gasket has failed and there is now coolant in my oil and its turned into a massive pink milkshake! anyway just wondering if there anyway of thinning it out or flushing that crap out of my engine?

Erm, drain the oil and then re-fill it with oil. run it in for a few mins sticking to low revs and then after a lil while, really go for it. :) but, yh, try and get all the oil and coolant out, dont try and syphon it.

The most likely reason you have got oil and water mixed is because the seal on the water pump impellor shaft has gone. You must replace this as well as flush out the gearbox. You will have to remove the clutch cover, remove the water pump cover, take off the gear from the impellor shaft, remove the said shaft and then prise/push the seal out. Press in a new one using a socket or something slightly smaller than the outside diameter. I think a new one is about 20 quid. By the way, check that the impellor shaft is not worn where it is in contact with the seal as a new seal will not fix it properly and you will have to replace the impellor as well. Good luck!
