Problem starting up the NEW Dtr

Erm, recently jus bought a dtr, got it home last week but i couldnt start it as i had no experience with bikes as only 16, anyway i took it around my mates house tonite, cleaned the spark and putted some petrol down and it kept running without stalling.... tho when we turned the engine off we noticed oil had came out from the head gasket area i believe ( right hand side off the choke with a white yamaha cover over it)

We then took the cover off to see that some little bits of metal was in the cover??

Anyone know why there would be oil coming out of there and if its fixable??

Let me know cheers

just a guess but, you say there was little bits of metal in the cover, it might've broken the seal? meaning the case wasnt 100% or...... your gaskets gone. :D

clutch gaskets gone them mate you will need a new gasket and if theres bits of metal in there you need to find were them bits of metal are from will be from iver one of the cogs in there if so will need replacing or from the clutch again will need replacing if its that.

did you try putting it into gear when it was running?
