Found this website which gives all the critical dimensions, jet sizes and settings for Mikuni carbs. So if you click on the links that take you to the carb that you have on your DT it tells you (amongst other things) the spigot diameters on each end of the carb. If you then want to try a bigger carb you can then compare the spigot sizes for that one and see how much grunt it'll take to fit it.
It was useful for me as we've bust the needle on the bottom of the slide. A genuine Yam needle kit was £31 but plenty of dealers selling just needles if you know the part number at about £4 a time. This website gives you the needle part number as well and I discovered the busted needle was the wrong one fitted anyway! Hope this helps a few.
If I were to get a YZ 125 Carb, will I need to change the trottle cable, reed block? and would it be a good idea to get the YZ's airbox + fittings? cheers
Well, I know a few on this forum have fitted bigger carbs - has it made a difference lads?
Its only an opinion, but I think the standard reedblock is restricting the inlet and if you fit a bigger carb it wont make a big difference unless you change/modify the reedblock as well. Not sure if the YZ one will fit so see if you can ask someone selling one on ebay to give you the outside dimensions and hole pitches.
what it this think with pepole thinking that yz parts will fit the only thing in common is the make nothing else you got just as much chance as outher brand parts fitting straght on like kawasakit ktm honda etc
