It will, I've put a tank from 2006 to 1997 frame. It fits perfectly ;)

Can I ask why you wanna do that?

i have a pretty severe dent in the side of my tank, and i know a guy who can get the older tanks,
also i like the older style scoops too :D

It will. Some parts won't. But the seat and the tank will fit perfectly.

Well from the prices off of ebay I'm guessing he will only want atout 25-30 for a good con one but I will keep you updated on that
