Thought my bike was going a bit slow back brake locking on well riding along then i keep having to releasing some pressure to get going again any ideas anybody please
Iv been doing that m8 emptied everything started fresh but its been a pain its doing it once every 5 mile journey . finally goin an mot tomorrow too PANIC stations
iv only gone and run outta brake fluid too now lol . thats handy to know m8 i didnt know the give you some leway this is my 1st time MOTing a bike . got a spare disc to if thats the case cheers m8
the caliper piston could be partially siezed m8, remove the caliper but leave it plumbed in get some big grips/swan necks/pipe grips what ever u wanna call them (plyers with big fcuk off handles lol) and squeeze the piston back in to the caliper and use the brake lever to push it back out (not too much other wise it will come out completely) repeat this process with plenty of lube (wd40/ penetrating spray ect ect) it should free up . if not then pop the piston out using brake lever clean up with 3m cloth/brillo pad ect ect ,grease up with RUBBER GREASE and refit make sure it all spotless inside the caliper.
thanks m8 been on one, its about time i went to sleep now. done it tho i went down the road an begged my m8s dot4 dragged my bike indoors freed up the caliper like you said . an bleed it all, see how it goes on its way for the mot tomorrow
Dont forget I had this trouble didnt I and it turned out I didnt have the spring in which attaches to the back brake lever and the frame, you can get them from yammy for 2.50 check you got the spring in mate
Right from what people have told me, take the piston out the brake and give it a good clean and in where it goes, I still havent got round to doing mine yet, cos I have this trouble aswell the brake lever does pop back up but not all the way so have to do it by foot for now hehehe but I hardly use the back brake
mine done this as well i changed the piston, seals and brake fluid then bled the system now it works fine the main culprit was the seals they had deteriated and the piston would not push back into the caliper
