That revving problem could be a couple of things, it could be an air leak, so you need to make sure all the jubilee clips are fastened, make sure your manifold bolts are nice and tight etc, anything basically from the manifold backwards needs to be checked for a good seal. Alternatively it may be your carb slide is sticking slightly.

Other than that.. not really sure tbh!

yes m8 will do cheers yeah got some pics of the engine well it was out to somewhere. the rear suspension feels pretty good nice an solid but the fronts a bit spongy an the engine is the one of the road bike that had a new piston an gaskets. i may swap these engines back over as yet though. not sure
the bike is a bit tatty in places mainly just one side  an someone painted it white an did a crappy job
the left side scoop panel has a crack in it  the rear plastics snapped its nubbin that clips in the frame so iv tied it on for now nubbins still sat in the frame though lol.
WON the swingarm bolt just anyway to so i cant wait to try it out again in the next few days.

the pictures aint that bad a resoulution i can zoom in to nuts an bolts with windows image viewer thing.
theres a rip in the seat an crack in the tank cap too i dont think iv mentioned .
the right cracked panel doesnt really show in the pitures but you can see it when your sitting on the bike.

If i was to keep it id probably replace both rear and left front panels  give it another paint up i gave the frame one coat  but it could do with another.
get a new tank cap  even though the old one still works its got a sharp bit on it  lol.
whack on a working kill switch
maybe change the rear sprocket  an front disk too at a later date there ok  for offroading

any advice on these 2 engines i have, would be appreciated

1st the one thats in the blue bike atm
It has a bigger barrel an piston it doesnt sound as nice id say it sound puny if anything ( maybe thats down do its big one exhaust)?
and the compresion in the the kick isnt as tight as the other engine. i can start it by hand but it works well an starts everytime

the engine in the white bike iv done a new piston an seals an the rest lol.
The kick compesion is heavy an ya cant push it down by hand,
it runs ok but iv not really had a proper go though just up the road an back , till the proper swingarm bolt comes
An its still not starting as easy as the other engine although im getting there bout 3 to 5 kicks now. when idle runnin, its sounds beastly just on its standard exhuast

Tbh mine fully rebuild, it can take 4 kicks, doesnt bother me

As long as , you know its had all new stuff thats all that matters really . Plus start by hand probly means it hasnt got alot of compression .

I know its frustrating but I'll have to point you back in the direction if my previous post about it being an air leak or something similar. If the revs are going nuts there is a chance it may also be suffering from fuel starvation.

so it could be the fact i had to strip the carb at the garage cos it was peein outta the float overflow i dont think i ever got it right again cos i altered everythin with it bein a kehin the bottom main needle jet is threaded ajustable 2 in two places like a brake or cluch adjuster. i hav noticed iv nailed the slides idle seating point a bit too,
took your advice on sealing everything though m8 cheers its definetly helped new jubilees allround. it ticks over an drops it revs nicer.
its mainly this 1st gear pulling now off from standstill once your past that it goes lovley but ocasionally it will rev its nut off too with no throttle.
Dangerous coming for a sharp turn yesterday an the thing powervalves of instead of easing off stayed on it thou lol

Got an mot pass finally today too on the blue dt so im well happy.
seem to have sorted this white ones problem to by lowering the main jet height in the float bowl ( keihin carbs only ) an ajusting the float a bit . gave it its power back in 1st gear anyway
its only revved its nuts off once since i took mammoth200s adivice on sealing all the joints an air filter box holes ( Cheers m8)
something im trying to suss now is why will its powervalve respond on flat surface an downhill perfect but not very easy uphill . is it somthing to do with the needle height becuase iv more or less played with every other setting the carbs got today.
an i know its capable off it cos iv rocketed up the lane before

Myn did that , blocked it up and it revs , tho it doesnt rev to 12rpm , but oh well i wouldnt push it to that any way.

As by 8k , it sounds crazy,my mates rs50 revs to 8k , and it sounds nothing like the dt

yeah offroader is running lovley now an its got some turbo to it, well till 4th gear then i run outta lane

must rev way over 8k feels that way  no clocks to tell though.  taken the road one to 11k an the offroader still seems quicker.

any info on these  pilot air mix screw  an needle notch setting   for a 240 jet setup would be appreciated

i have mine at 0.25 turns on a 240 jet an needle notch 2nd from top.on a 91 bikepegged fully open  runs great really but still  i want more speed

iv read on other posts about pre 99 bikes you turn the screw 1.25  then after 03 bikes 0.25.

is that due to the 210 jetting on the older models then the 240 on newer ones

suggesting  my 0.25 turns out is right for my 240 jetting in short lol
