2002, DT 125 Off-road wreck :) PICTURE UPDATE
Permalink

Well, after a long awaited search for a bike close to me i found one actually near me as opposed to the other side of the country! however including going back to my parents house to get a trailer, the total trip worked out about the same in miles lol!!

Anyway,  2002 Dt 125.  nearly standard bar indicators, small number plate, mirrors and 'big one' silencer.

7k on the clock at the moment with 11 months m.o.t and 5 months tax!

Picked it up today for £1k

Here is a quick pic before having to go back to uni!  compared the DT with the YZ in the background up the road quickly, made the DT feel like a slug lol!

I'll get some better pictures over the weekend!

If anyone knows any cheap/cool things i could do to it, please just leave a post with what and where they are available.

Plans so far are just to get it very clean, put the yz front mudguard, perhaps a nicer front light, and people talk to tail tidy's but they are about £50 :/

ite m8 kl ill post up details of dates n locations when i get them,

any chance u can do me a favour if u get a chance can u see if ur rear sprocket and brake disc off the yz fit the dt rear hub, and see if the rear wheel fits the dt (with or without dt axle) to see if the disc lines up in the rear brake, if it does im gonna get a renthal twin ring sprocket and new wavey disc to match the one im gonna get for the front , also if the yz wheel fits the dt im gonna get a yz wheel in the future as there lighter n better looking, if u can do that thatll be sweet as, also it will open up more products to the dt if we can find out wat exactly fits staright from the yz biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

trick bits for everybody  yay!!!!!lol

back home with the bike at the moment! had a go on my drive, i cant wait untill i have got my CBT on monday! its faster than my car lol!

thanks for the comments, i'll get some nice photo's tomorrow if the sun's out. i would polish it but i know where im going after my CBT!

Brad, had a quick look in comparison with the yz, hubs and everything look completely different and looks like a non fit unless butchered a lot! i will get back on other parts if they fit though lol! perhaps an older YZ might be more corresponding!

No mate about 4 or 5 parts can transfer from the YZ to DT, wheel components arent any of them unfortunately

I think I'll leave the YZ as is! it kills the DT hands down, would love to have the motor on the road lol.

I have read the de restricting post on a website linking to this forum for the year of this bike,

These are the ones i know.
- rev limiter in the clock that needs to be unplugged.
- exhaust (basically just get a new front pipe lol)
- airbox (will leave this one alone as i want to use it off road.

is there any other ones for this bike like buying a servo for a power valve to hold it open, or is that other models?

Thanks

Well, been a while, i initially started out just wanting to keep the bike as it was. but somehow ended up spending all my money on its looks!

firstly, pulled it all apart (exterior) and washed it all properly, getting all the sh1te off thats probably been there for years!
then i went and got some bits for it!

fatbars/bar risers
Front/Rear mudguards/headlight/tail-tidy
polished exhaust guard
spare wheels for off road sessions!

I didnt take any photo's before i used it off road, but it was going to get wrecked anyway!!

Have a look, there was a mirror on it...but i fell off, along with the mirror :)

Hope you like, no further plans with the bike. will

Thanks for the link buddy :)

It already has the hpires rear fender. I think cutting the seat is a must as it doesn't line up nice.

I guess I'll be cutting the panel down next then lol!!
