Hi can anyone give me some help i have just got my bike a 2002 dt125r with 3200 on the clock it had stood for 4 yrs it aparentley has all been serviced it starts first kick and runs fine except when it hits 5000 rpm then it flattens and splutters til 7000rmp then goes like stink, this flat spot is in all gears , when it goes into 6th gear it loses power and drops speed its really anoying can anyone suggest what it is, The bike has a dep front pipe and a big one silencer fitted, the power valve is working fine, HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP

IS it your powervalve jammed open

dirty carb
reeds
air filter
plug
ht lead

If it not the powervalve, then it sounds like one off them things ......

I'V CHANGED THE PLUG, FILTER IS SPOTLESS ,POWERVALVE SEEMS TO BE WORKING CAN HEAR IT WORK WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED ON BUT THIS IS MR FIRST 2 STROKE AND I DONT KNOW A LOT ABOUT THEM

Hi I had the same problem. I cleaned the power valve out and Hey presto up and running sweet again! Give it a try.

it defernetly sounds like your powervalve, is round the right way ?
