vapor speedo on dt125re?

I was just wondering if you can put a trail-tech vapor speedo on a DT125RE 2004 model because the layout is different to the DRT the ignition is behind the handle bars....

Has anyone on here put on of these on there DT's?

The only reason im getting one is because im putting some 17" supermoto wheels on soon in the fture, and they are different hubs on the front so i will losse my speedo drive....which is why i want a vapor one biggrin

Thanks for any help guy'saww

Alrite lads, would post in the fitting a vapor speedo but its been locked so thought it a be best to post in here,

Anyway I recently just bought my trail tech vapor speedo and dashboard for the re but I've noticed in that post that he bought the vapor for a water cooled bike and he got a temperture sender unit which gets installed on one of the rad' pipes, whereas i bought the same and got this instead, and just wanna make sure that this can still be used and as good as the other type:

??? cheers

Not sure mate, i got the part that requires you to cut the coolant pipe to the head to fit it, but you dont have to cut the pipe, take out the origional temp sensor and fit the 1 that comes with the vapour.

If it was me i would swop it.

It doesnt matter what size, take the bolt/sensor out of it and screw it in where the standard dt temp sensor is on top of the head. Thats what ive done mate

This is the ne i bought for usd bikes, 752-300 :check what size this 1 comes with, it is the correct size and you just take the bolt out of it and replace the standard 1. Ill take a picture of it in a minute mate

Its not the best quality but you can just see the bolt in the head, i know it needs a clean :)

The bolt is more then likely the same on all them different size adaptors so it wouldnt matter what size, my engine overheated making this melt and pretty much explode coolant everywhere, not good when the clock reads 170oc lol

Right I've fitted the vapor and looks very tasty (yes i will upload pics soon ;) ) but im worried if the rev counter is not set up right, it shows that its idling at about 1600k (does that sound about right, don't honestly know as only had the re with no rev counter?? also I looked into the dtr speedo and saw the red line section is 9 k onwards but the power is unbelievably powerful at 6,7,8k on the speedo and was wondering how many times everyone wrapped the cable around the spark plug lead as im wondering if this is this is actually where im in the red section??

This could be because of the effects from removing the snorkle and putting on the derestricted pipe the same day but i just want to make sure??

cheers

That's fine mate it's a 2-stroke the tick over isn't ever going to be spot on perfect, mine is usually around 1300-1600 just like your's and don't worry about all the disco lights with the revs it just adds to the fun lol, depends what pipe your using again etc for power kick in as ya know :)
